Killer - Adamski, Seal and George Michael

Killer introduced many of us to Seal who was able to use it to consolidate his solo career.

Adamski/Seal
Adamski's Killer, not only introduced Seal, but was also Adamski's most popular hit. It was released around the main time for acid and house music and in common with that theme offers hypnotic and repetitive synth rhythms over electronic drums. What made it stand out and become more acceptable to the masses was the speed, being slower than the usual acid tracks and Seal's penetrating vocals.

George Michael
Innovate introduction of bringing two songs together. Nothing new in that, bands have been doing it for years, but very few mainstream artists accommodate that style of mixing songs together. If ever, they are usually segued rather than concurrently mixed.

Fortunately George Michael has enough character in his voice to carry off the cover, although I'm not sure all the notes are the same.

Gone are the techno drums, replaced with more realistic percussion, at least for the first half of the song. The synth pad has been updated to use a more realistic strings sound.

The funky wah guitar has been brought in from Papa Was a Rolling Stone and features more heavily later in the song as the song switches from Killer to Papa Was a Rolling Stone complete with backing singers.
